FAQs
Activate Global League (also called AGL or simply, League) brings the world to your local Activate. Form your team, then face off against other teams from around the world. Win enough matches in the first five weeks, and earn a spot in the Playoffs. Beat your opponent in Playoffs to advance to Finals, where your team has the chance to earn global recognition on the Wall of Fame.
Gather your team of 3-5 players and complete registration online. Your Team Coordinator will make the team and receive a code to use to register all the players. Team Coordinators must also complete registration to join the team. Once everyone is registered, wait for the first list of matches to hit your inbox the week before the season starts.
Your team will have 7 matches each week, and you get 3 attempts for each match. You’ll also be assigned an additional “You Vs. The World” game for a chance to earn bonus coins, for a total of 24 attempts each week.
The Team Coordinator is the person who creates and names the team. They are responsible for administration of the team during the registration period and must share the link to join with the people they want to add to the team. By default, Team Coordinators are not registered to the team and must also use the join link if they want to play.
The AGL page of the Activate website will update weekly with standings and schedules. Use the Leaderboard and Schedule tabs above to view standings and schedules.
Match assignments are typically released on Thursdays, after all matches from the previous week have been completed and standings have been calculated. Sometimes, when the AGL Commissioner needs extra time to verify the results, the standings and game lists may be delayed. Keep an eye on your email inbox to find out when the leaderboards and schedules have been updated.
The You Vs. The World game, also called simply the “World Game,” is an extra game played by all the teams in your Division. The team with the highest World Game score each week earns 100 extra coins per player and a shoutout on Activate’s socials.
In the event that a game in a regular match cannot be played by one of the teams, the World Game scores will be used for both teams in place of the unavailable game.
Your team will face off against other teams in your Division, which means they’re all around the same skill level as you. Each regular season match-up has a different opponent. For Playoffs, it’s a head-to-head showdown with all games played against the same team. Take down your opponent to advance to Finals, where you’ll be put up against all the other Finals teams in your Division.
Each Division has a first, second, and third place prize up for grabs. Prizes are all split evenly among rostered players. First place also earns a coveted spot on the AGL Wall of Fame. Other material prizes vary from season to season and are not guaranteed.
First place: 15,000 coins
Second place: 7,500 coins
Third place: 3,000 coins
All AGL match-ups have to be played during the AGL window, anytime Monday through Wednesday.
Your A-game. Other than that, athletic shoes and attire is recommended.
Players can only compete on one AGL team each season.
We rank all the registered teams based on the players’ scores at Activate and their previous AGL record. Once we have all the teams ranked in order, we cut them into Divisions. This means the teams in your Division will all be around your same skill level.
Don’t worry, bring a sub! Substitute players (also called subs) can be brought in to replace rostered players if someone can’t play. Subs can’t be rostered on another team, and can only sub for one team each week. You can bring more than one sub, but at least one rostered player must always be present and playing. There is no fee for bringing subs.
Please note, subs are not permitted for Playoffs or Finals weeks. Rostered players only.
Yes! AGL is fun for the whole family and a great way to get the kids out of the house. Minimum age to join AGL is 6 years old. Kids under a certain age may need supervision, inquire with the front desk for rules specific to your location.
We highly recommend making a booking to make sure we have space for you at the time you want to play.
Practice sessions are not included in the AGL admission cost, but shortened sessions are often available exclusively for AGL players. Inquire with the front desk on your next visit to hear about the options available at your location.
AGL is available worldwide! Check the registration page or inquire with the front desk of your local Activate to find out if you can compete in your city.
If you want to change your AGL competition location while registration is still open, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance.
After the registration period has closed, all games must be played at the location where your team is registered.
League registration must be completed online, so only digital payments are accepted. AGL admission can also be paid via Activate gift card during the registration process.
Once the AGL registration period closes, the AGL system begins calculating matches for the season. These calculations are based on how many teams are registered, and who is on those teams. Removing players or teams at this stage would make those calculations inaccurate and is not possible. No refunds will be given after the registration period closes.
Activate will automatically refund any paid, incomplete teams in the first few weeks of the season.
